Steel Flash Report - No Registration Needed for Purchase

Written by executive editor Tom Stundza, Purchasing's Steel Flash Report is a concise monthly round-up of news and events that influence spot-market pricing for steel mill products. The report features the steel market's only definitive reporting of what buyers in manufacturing and construction industries are actually paying - and what they can expect to pay in future - for steel mill products

Latest Steel Flash Report – February 26, 2010 issue preview:

Steel price increases sluggish due to weak demand

Steel prices have increased since bottoming in December but not as high as the mills have wanted. Reason: Since the metalworking recovery remains anemic, price-propping demand isn’t growing as fast as some market analysts had projected and most mills had expected. A further blow to suppliers’ expectations came just this week when new order data for long-lasting U.S. manufactured goods, excluding bookings for civilian aircraft, slipped in January.
