Chemicals Flash Report - No Registration Needed for Purchase

Written by executive editor Tom Stundza, Purchasingdata.com's Chemicals Flash Report is published six times per year (Aug, Oct, Dec, Feb, Apr, Jun). This comprehensive market update - covering North American chemical markets - is something every petrochemical buyer should read and digest.

Here's a sneak peak at the latest edition of Chemicals Flash Report (June 29, 2009):

Recession has been “putting a hurting” on the chemicals marketplace

The 18-month recession has reduced North American chemicals purchasing by almost 16%. By the time this year is over, IHS Global Insights projects that U.S. petrochemical purchasing volume in 2008-2009 could have declined by 30%. Actually, several economists think the market freefall may be close to bottoming out. “Right now, we are riding a roller coaster,” says one buyer--noting that bookings are off but purchasing is contentious because of buyer/supplier skirmishes over prices.
